ALA MIS Upgrade & Downtime
ALA MIS (the ALA’s management information system/member database) will be undergoing a substantial upgrade that will affect ALA MIS and the MyAuxiliary member portal.
Timeframe:
· ALA MIS and the member portal will be unavailable starting at noon ET June 22, 2026. ALA MIS is expected to be back up and running on July 6, 2026.
How will this upgrade impact members?
· During this time, membership processing, reports, or payment of dues will not be available. This means that if members call National Headquarters, we will be unable to take membership payments, make changes to records or provide information as the system will be down for staff as well.
· Changes to the MyAuxiliary portal for our members will be minimal.
· ALA MIS users will see a new, more intuitive interface when they log in.
Preparation recommendations:
· We are encouraging Departments and Units to go into ALA MIS now to handle any member processing with dues, address changes, etc., because the system will be down June 22 to July 6.
What does this downtime mean for…
· Membership awards? The 100% Membership Award deadline is July 4, but due to the ALA MIS member database being unavailable at that time, the 100% deadline is being extended to July 20. The 30 days prior to National Convention Delegate Report deadline, along with the 102% Department Award Goal and the 95% Retention Department Goal, will remain the same.
· Delegate strength for National Convention? Convention registration uses a separate system called Cvent and will not be affected by the downtime.
· Training resources? Live and recorded training courses will be available for Department Full and Unit Full users. New training manuals will be available for all access levels, as well as short training videos inserted throughout the new ALA MIS for easy access. ALA MIS Users will receive further communications specific to their level of access regarding their training materials and opportunities for attending live courses.
· Impact numbers and reporting? The downtime will not affect impact numbers because it uses a system called Formstack, where members fill out an online form and submit.
