From the President’s Desk

From Annette Gwalthney-Jones,
2025-2026 Department of Alaska President
Dear Auxiliary Family,
It is with deep gratitude and heartfelt enthusiasm that I welcome you to a new chapter in our Department’s journey. As your Department President, I am honored to serve alongside each of you, members who are committed, passionate, and driven by purpose.
Having just returned from the National Convention, my commitment to our mission has never been stronger. Being surrounded by so many dedicated Auxiliary members from across the country reminded me of the power of unity and the incredible impact we make together. As National President Pam Ray so eloquently stated: “Mission Driven – Family Focused.”
This year, I invite you to join me in advancing a shared vision of revitalization, engagement, and lasting service.
Our Focus for the Year
Be The One to Save One
We continue to support the Be The One initiative—our national effort to prevent veteran suicide and raise mental health awareness. I encourage every member to take this mission personally. Be the one to listen. Be the one to connect. Be the one to make a difference.
Children & Youth Program Revitalization
Our young people are the future of our communities and our nation. We are committed to breathing new life into our Children & Youth programs—creating impactful opportunities that support and inspire the next generation.
Growth of the ALA Girls State Program
Our Girls State program continues to grow in strength and reach. I look forward to building on this momentum and ensuring we provide a platform that educates, empowers, and elevates future leaders.
